Prerequites

Supported environments

This release supports the following environments:
– Office 365 tenant and Azure
– SharePoint Server 2013
– SharePoint Server 2016

New features

Modern

– Noticeboard now has nested comments, so you can reply to comments.
– We’ve added a basic JavaScript SDK for Power Panel (window.Wizdom.PowerPanel). This includes event scaffolding, which developers can use to react to actions in Power Panel (currently only supports PANEL_OPEN). Also added a way to open a panel through program code, by using index or GUID (recommended).
– The Power Panel is now available as a personal app in Microsoft Teams. For information about how to install and enable it, click here.

Classic

– We’ve added a new Tile template for Quicklinks, which supports images or icons as well as background and text color.

Changes and improvements

– These templates have new styles; Full Width, Compact List, List View, and Cards. The new styles include icons and designs for different content types. Note: If you have custom styling on your templates or Noticeboard, remember to test them in a test environment before upgrading your live version.
– The Full Width template now follows the style and functionality of the Corporate News web part.
– The List template now lets you have one or two columns.
– In Chrome and Edge browsers, we’ve changed the underlying logic for web parts to encompass Google’s new samesite logic for cookies, which was introduced with Chrome v80. For more information, on samesite logic, see this guide by Digiday.
– When you create a Noticeboard item with multiple language variations, these variations now sync to the data store that Wizdom uses for SharePoint Search. This means that your readers should see the version of the Noticeboard item in the language they’ve set SharePoint to.
– The Corporate News web part now doesn’t show a view count by default. The view count is still visible when you click a news item. If you want to enable the view counter on the web part, go to the web part settings, and select Show view count.
– Wizdom is now more responsive on small screens.
– You can now translate Power Panel tab labels.
– The Power Panel now throws a warning if there is no config file.
– You can now use result source for querying Policies I Must Read and Relevant Pages.
– The Page Information web part has a new UI and is more responsive.
– We’ve improved the error message for when you create a Page Information web part from a template with the web part. The error message now provides more information and next steps.
– When you create a news item in Noticeboard, it’s no longer mandatory to provide a summary or message. A Heading is enough.
– Web parts in Power Panel now support dynamic data links.
