Workspaces web part settings for modern pages

The Workspace Overview web part

The ‘Workspace Overview’ web part provides users with an overview of and tools to manage all workspaces associated with a workspace instance.

The web part offers an easy entrance to find, filter, and create workspaces. Clicking the dots to the right of each workspace, workspace admins can find a shotcut to delete workspaces as well as edit and show workspace metadata. Additionally, you can order results by clicking the arrow next to the heading. For example, sort alphabetically according to title. 

Insert the Workspaces Overview web part on a page by performing the following acts:

1) With the page in edit mode, click the plus icon to see the list of web parts available.

2) Find the Workspaces Overview web part either by navigation or by searching the list.

Web part properties:

Define properties by navigating to the web part, switch to edit mode and press ‘Edit‘ on the web part.

To select which instances should be displayed in the overview, simply choose from the drop-down list in the menu bar to the right. Here you can decide how the overview will be presented; including search field, filters, and icons.

Under ‘Selected columns‘, editors can change what is presented to the viewer, such as the workspace image, descirption, and sitetype (where the workspace is located). Users can also filter and seach for keywords in order to find the workspace they are looking for.

Add a ‘Custom predefined query string‘ to refine searches even more. 

The Workspace Metadata web part

The Workspace Metadata web part provides an overview of a single workspace. Simply select an instance and a workspace from the drop-down lists.

 The chosen workspace will appear in the webpart. 

Insert the Workspaces Overview web part on a page by performing the following acts:

1) With the page in edit mode, click the plus icon to see the list of web parts available.

2) Find the Workspaces Overview web part either by navigation or by searching the list.
